I was going through my collage portfolio and came across a collage I made some time ago for producer, engineer, singer and songwriter Brooks Arthur.
Brooks had worked with such legends as Carole King, Gerry Goffin, Neil Sedaka and Neil Diamond, to name a few. Brooks Arthur had produced the multi-platinum first and second comedy albums by Adam Sandler (the second album includes the overwhelmingly received “The Chanukah Song”). Van Morrison (Brown Eyed Girl, Astral Weeks, and Wavelength) and Bruce Springsteen (Greetings From Asbury Park and E Street Shuffle) are just two future Rock & Roll Hall of Famers whose records received the Brooks touch. He earned a GRAMMY Award for Janis Ian’s At Seventeen and in addition to his artist and production projects, he was nominated for 20+ GRAMMY Awards over the decades.
The collage was very nostalgic, based on his earlier years. In addition to his holding a Grammy, there was a picture of him in front of the famous Brill Building where songwriters Goffin and King and countless other songwriters wrote and produced some of the most famous songs around. Notorieties in the collage included photos of Carole King, Neil Diamond, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darin, Quincy Jones, Herb Albert, Tony Orlando, Patty Duke, and many others that Brooks had worked with. The collage was a sentimental journey for him, highlighting his achievements in the music industry.
For me the joy was that he could re-live those moments at any time by viewing his custom collage.
Wishing you a day filled with wonderful memories, Miriam
